OOTD : Monochrome Magic

Untitled design(74)

Having finished my antibiotics and gotten some well needed rest, my writing flow and inspiration is well and truly back on track and I couldn’t be happier. I’m trying to put a bigger emphasis on the fashion side of An Domhan I Mo Cheann at the moment, as in September, I’ll be starting my amazing role as Deputy Fashion Editor of Motley Magazine, a challenge I’m incredibly excited about.

Over the last few weeks, almost everything I’ve purchased clothing-wise has been on the monochrome spectrum. While I’ve always been a lover of black, I rarely went for white clothing (mostly because my skin blends in with it) but that’s definitely changing. There’s something so elegant and classy about these colours paired together, in the words of the iconic Coco Chanel, “Black has it all. White too. Their beauty is absolute. It is the perfect harmony”. I’ve put together a simple monochrome look that could be worn for a number of different occasions. It’s classy and structured enough for work wear, yet still has that individual flare to it that makes it ideal as summer occasion wear too.

I picked up this gorgeous off-white, knee-length sleeveless blazer in New Look Wilton last week for €14.99 (reduced from €29.99). I’d been meaning to buy something like this for ages as it’s so versatile, perfect to team with a jeans or culottes for casual wear, or over a dress to give it a more glamorous edge.

I’ve literally been searching for a tuxedo-style dress forever, so when I came across this one on Missguided last week, I couldn’t resist. It’s such a comfy fit, definitely something I’d wear on a night out when I want to feel comfortable but still look done up. The material is amazing quality, hangs beautifully and at just €33, I’ll definitely be nabbing it in the white too. I’m wearing the UK 6 and would say it’s true to size.

My shoes were one of my all time favourite sale purchases, I picked them up from River Island about 2 months ago and they’re honestly so comfortable (well, as comfortable as 5″ heels can be). Here’s a closer look at them…

Aren’t they simply to die for?! I just had a little look and they’re actually still available at the sale price (down from €77 to €30) in UK sizes 3, 5 and 6.
