Review – Sleek Sunset Palette

Happy New Year ladies!

My first post of 2016 is a review of the Sleek Sunset Palette. I received it on Wednesday and was dying to try it out straightaway. I’m a big fan of Sleek, it’s definitely one of my favourite pharmacy makeup brands, in terms of affordability and quality. This palette cost me 10.29 and I think all of their palettes retail at around that, which is amazing value.

The palette consists of 12 shades which range from rustic reds and coppers to browns and a striking blue. It includes a full size mirror and a duo sided application brush. The brush is decent but quite basic but that’s to be expected considering the price. I used my Urban Decay Naked palette brushes (2 and Smoky), along with my NIMA ‘Ollie’ brush. Also included is a plastic protector sheet with the names of each shade which is an added bonus.

I was delighted when I first opened the palette and saw how beautiful the colours are. I’ve been dying to do a burgundy eye look for ages so shade 2 ‘Horizon’ was ideal. The red based colours and the shimmery black are very similar to the shades in the new Inglot Christmas palette, so if you’re a fan of that but on a budget (the Inglot one is around 75), this palette would be a great buy.

In terms of pigmentation and colour pay off, I’d have to put this palette up there with the UD Naked ones. It’s AMAZING. Considering it cost a tenner, I couldn’t believe how long it lasted without creasing/fading – 12 hrs! And that’s without eyeshadow primer too.

I used 2. mixed with 7. all over the lid, 1. on the lower lash line, 3. on the crease and the Naked 2’s Bootycall on the brow bone to highlight. I’m not wearing any false lashes (as I never do), this is simply Rimmel London Wake Me Up mascara along with their Glam Eyes liquid liner for my wings. I kept the rest of the look quite simple, using my daily face/lip products;

Foundation – Rimmel Stay Matte Mousse

Concealer – Rimmel Match Perfection

Contour – Sleek Bronzer/Highlighter Duo

Lipstick – Kate Moss for Rimmel

Lip Liner – Essence

I completed the look using my UD Makeup Setting Spray, probably my best beauty buy of 2015, it’s a lifesaver!

Any questions, drop them below, and if you’ve used the palette yourself let me know what you thought!
