1 Dress, 3 Looks – How To Style This Season’s Suede Dress

Hi ladies,

This is my second post today, really getting into posting regularly which I’m delighted about. This post is all about how I would style one of this season’s hottest pieces – the suede dress. Suede itself is making a huge comeback, by way of dresses, skirts, crop tops and accessories in particular. Rustic, autumny colours seem to be most popular, with plums, tans, beiges and the old reliable black all being spotted in almost every shop’s A/W collections.

The dress I’m styling today is not from any high end label, but our own no.1 Irish haunt – Penneys! I nabbed this dress from their new A/W stock about 2 weeks ago for just €18. It’s a loose-fitting shift dress in a tan/orange colour, with a zip at the back and faux pocket detail at the front. I take between a UK size 6 and 8 but they had no 6’s so I took the 8 even though it felt a bit big, as I really loved it and knew it would probably sell out quick. So it’s a little baggier than my desired fit but that the style of dress it is anyway.

Look No.1 – Night Out Chic

In this look, I teamed the dress with my beloved River Island gold strappy heels which you all adored from my Shoe Haul post last month, along with a black crepe blazer from Boohoo and a black leather clutch also from Penneys. I also added a statement belt that came with one of my RI pairs of jeans. I think this look would be ideal for a night out with friends, a family meal or a date night. The length of the dress keeps the outfit playful and fun, while the loose fit makes it comfy and not too restricting.

Look No. 2 – Classy Lady Like Attire

The second look I’ve styled the dress with is a more elegant, dainty take on the trend. I paired the dress with some patent nude courts and a cream leather handbag, both from Penneys also. I would wear this outfit for a lunch with family, possibly as a work look depending on your career, and also a gorgeous race day outfit if you simply added a statement headpiece. I find nudes go really well with rustic colours, especially with my dark hair and blue eyes.

Look No. 3 – Trendy Edgy Grunge

Finally, my last look, my personal fave of the three is an edgier, more casual take on the suede trend. I added some black (also suede) pointed lace up flats, a black leather biker jacket and a black leather shoulder bag, all from Penneys too! I find that black really sets of the tan colour and lets it do the talking, complementing it well. The perfect outings for this attire would be a shopping trip, a concert, a casual low-key date, or a cultural trip while on holidays.

And there you have it, 3 different ways to wear 1 gorgeous suede dress from our beloved Penneys. I’ve just realised that the entire item list bar two pieces were Penneys, but how can you go wrong eh? I hope you enjoyed this post and got some inspiration on how to style your own suede pieces this A/W. If you have any questions on the items featured feel free to leave a comment below. Enjoy your weekend girls!

Until next time,
